In the Far East, the room sizes actually match the number of mats so they fit exactly, here our room sizes are more difficult.

Tatami is made in 3 different thicknesses:
Unit Tatami 15mm is ideal for laminate floors, has a velcro type tape for location and a dimpled reverse. The fibre board core is similar in density to the highest grade tatami, it also means you can stand furniture on the mat. This is the easiest mat to cut to size

Standard Tatami 45mm. A long lasting traditional mat with grass core, smells of new mown hay and is a joy to sleep on. If you have stayed in Japan or China, these are the mats you would sleep on.
Walking on tatami is done either with slippers or socks - no high heels!

High Quality Tatami 55mm. Our most popular mat for the discerning client. A highly compressed mat in the traditional manner.
